Sola Gratia

Sola Gratia (grace alone) declares that salvation is a gift from God, not from human effort or merit. The Apostle Paul writes, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9, LSB).  From beginning to end, redemption comes from the unmerited favor of God.  Our repentance, faith, forgiveness, righteousness, works, and worship stems for His amazing grace (Eph. 1:7,8; Titus 2:11-14, 3:7).  Sola Gratia stands resolute against the idea that works play any role in offering merit to the sinner.  We are saved not because of who we are or what we’ve done, but because of who God is, “gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness” (Psalm 145:8).”
